Every December thousands of sandhill cranes arrive at Bosque del Apache New Mexico as part of their annual migration. The ponds right off the Rio Grande River provide refuge for the night as well as feeding opportunities. Snow geese and other birds, as well as predators are also at Bosque del Apache. The mornings and evenings are the most exciting as all the birds seem to depart and arrive at the same time.
